新民村位于龙涓乡驻地西偏南约9.5公里处，在高顶岩山与大都仑北坡之间的山间谷地，与华安县毗邻。村名原为新林，因同县已有同名村，改称新民。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

村子设立于明朝洪武时期。新中国成立前此地属一个乡，新中国成立时属公社的一个大队。1989年10月成立新民行政村。[1]

人口民族[edit]

2012年统计，全村983人。村民以陈姓为主，多数村民在外经商、办企业或务工。[1]
