龙房村位于龙涓镇境内，古称南坑。因村中内房、龙卿二处人口增多，各取一字，始称龙房。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

村子建于清嘉庆五年（1800年）。村中以李、郑两姓为主：李姓先人迁来后，居于龙卿、内房、凤形等处；郑姓先人则迁入南坑自然村。[1]

明清时期此地为龙涓里南坑乡、内房乡一带，民国时归龙涓乡美林保，1952年划入第九区。1958年并入半林一带的高级社，同年11月编入龙涓人民公社。[1]

1961年8月另成大队，1984年改为龙房村民委员会。[1]
