举溪村位于龙涓镇境内，海拔约500米，四周环山，属河谷盆地，溪流由村中穿过。村名经榉溪、举魁、举溪三次演变，与溪畔的榉树和南宋淳祐年间的一位中举者有关。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

明清时期此地属积德乡崇信里的举魁乡。民国后期归宝山乡，以“举溪保”为名。1952年划为第八区的一个乡；1958年，此地成为龙涓公社下的举溪大队。[1]

1961年归龙涓区管辖，1965年撤区后仍属龙涓公社。1984年起称龙涓乡举溪村委会，管辖十个自然村，委员会设在德田尾。[1]

荣誉[edit]

2022年1月，举溪村被认定为「安溪县2020-2021年度文明村镇」。[1]
