前洋村是安溪县大坪乡下辖的行政村，位于厦门市与泉州市交界处的山区，海拔870米，村内分布有若干自然角落。[1]

村名的来历是：村址地势平坦开阔，古时称“洋”，取聚财与安生之意，故名前洋。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

明清时期，本村属伊仁里。民国时期，它先后归属于数个区与乡；新中国成立后，又经崇新区与第七区、西坪区的变动，1958年划入西坪公社，1961年归西坪区，1965年改属虎邱公社。1984年设大坪乡前洋村委会，1987年改属大坪乡。[1][2]

荣誉[edit]

2022年1月，本村被认定为「安溪县2020-2021年度文明村镇」。[1]
