福美村是安溪县大坪乡下辖的行政村，村落四面环山，村民以高、张、林三姓为主。[1][2]
村名经历过两次改变：旧称福海，因一窑形似海而得名；新中国成立后改称福洋。1981年，因与祥华乡的福洋村同名，改为现名福美。[1][2]
历史沿革[edit]
明清时期此地属积德乡新康里，民国时期并入新康乡的萍洲保。1952年划为第八区的福美乡，之后1958年成为西坪公社下的一个大队。1984年设村民委员会；1987年大坪乡组建后，改由其管辖。[1][2][3]
