地名由来[edit]
据当地传说，早年要建一座宫庙，需迁移邻近的一座古墓，迁墓时飞出三只乌鸦，因而称「飞鸦」。1951年土改时，取「飞鸦」的「飞」和「新桥」的「新」，合称飞新[1]。
沿革[edit]
1956年成立沙上乡，1958年划入湖头公社，作为其中的飞新大队，1987年改隶湖上乡[1]。
