白濑乡位于安溪县西北部，地处晋江西溪上游，境内多山，森林资源丰富，茶园面积较大。[1]

乡境内西溪两岸的石景，以及上格村境内的王帽山，是乡里主要的自然景观。[1][4]

历史沿革[edit]

1965年12月，白濑林场成立，其辖地取自剑斗、湖头两公社中的四个大队。[1][2]

在此之前，这一带的沿革较为复杂：宋代属金田乡常乐里，明清仍为常乐里，民国时期分属长坑区、第三区、第二区与八社乡；新中国成立后，又先后归清溪、第四、第十二、剑斗和湖头等区管辖。[2]

1984年8月，以林场辖区为基础设立白濑乡人民政府。[1][2]

地理环境[edit]

乡境东接湖头镇，西靠剑斗镇，南隔溪与湖上乡相望，北与永春县玉斗镇相邻，距县城39公里。[1]

地名取自流经全境的西溪：溪床落差大，溪水直冲巨石，溅起大片白色浪花，故称白濑。[2]

乡境属亚热带海洋性季风气候，森林覆盖率据县人民政府门户网站所载为67.5%。[1][3]

人口民族[edit]

百度百科载全乡户籍人口12004人，为2019年末数字；县人民政府门户网站所载为11999人，未注统计时间。[1][3]

长基村五龙山自然村与寨坂村园潭仔自然村是畲族聚居地，两处畲族共610多人，畲族中有兰、钟两姓。[1]

经济[edit]

乡政府提出以茶业带动发展的思路，全乡茶园面积5000多亩；山茶油和野生红菇也是当地的土特产。[1]

境内有水电站7座，装机总容量3.9万千瓦。泉三铁路和省道307线穿过乡境，莆永高速公路也有一段在境内。[1]

名胜古迹[edit]

西溪沿岸有「白濑溪声」「蝙蝠洞」「石莲开花」「王帽石」等景点，溪底还分布着大小不一的石臼。[1]

王帽山位于上格村境内，山体以松林、峭壁和天然洞穴为特征，山中有双雀石、鹰头石等怪石群。[1][4]

乡内保存有古代山寨遗址，以及明清时期的祖厝和寺庙。[1]

荣誉[edit]

  • 2012年12月，环境保护部授予「2010—2011年度国家级生态乡镇」称号。[2]
  • 2020年12月，省爱卫办确认白濑乡为「福建省卫生乡镇」。[2]
  • 2022年1月，被认定为「安溪县2020-2021年度文明村镇」。[2]
