玉湖村位于安溪县长卿镇西南部，地处山涧河谷盆地，海拔624米，村分内堀、中堀、外堀三片，村民以王姓为主。村名因四周高、中间低，形如湖泊，故雅称玉湖。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
1645年（清顺治二年），王姓族人凑资修起营盘寨，其遗址至今尚在。[1]
此地明清两代归金田乡还二里管辖。民国时期为长卿镇玉湖保，1952年改归第十一区的玉湖乡；1958年组成玉湖大队，隶属长坑公社；1984年称长坑乡玉湖乡委会，2020年转为长卿镇玉湖村村民委员会。[1]
名胜古迹[edit]
明湖堂位于村中，建于民国时期，为县级文物保护单位。据博雅地名网，此处是中共安溪中心县委的成立地点。[2]
经济[edit]
村中种植的淮山荣获市级「一村一品」专业村称号。[3]
文化[edit]
2022年1月，玉湖村被认定为「安溪县2020-2021年度文明村镇」。[1]
