玉美村位于安溪县长卿镇西南部，地处山丘地带，村中没有企业，经济收入主要靠男子外出打工。村名原称玉湖尾，因“尾”与“美”谐音而改为“玉美”。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
明清时期此地属金田乡还一里。民国时期为长卿镇一保，1952年属第十一区。1958年间设玉美大队，1960年7月改为玉美村，1984年成为长坑乡玉美村委会，2020年改称长卿镇玉美村村民委员会。[1]
经济[edit]
村中只有几处茶叶加工点，村民的收入多靠外出务工。[1]
文化[edit]
2019年12月，玉美村列入第二批国家森林乡村名单，名单由国家林业和草原局发布。2020年12月，玉美村入选「2020年福建省森林村庄」名单。2022年1月，玉美村被认定为「安溪县2020-2021年度文明村镇」。[1]
