小西村位于安溪县长卿镇东南部，地处山间，村中有草敦、朴墘、南坑、暗香林四个自然村落。村名因原住地位于衡阳西部而得，最初称小西溪。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

明建文三年（1401年），先人自邻近村庄迁到此地定居，因位于原住地西部，取名小西。[1]

明清时此地归金田乡还二里。1946年为长卿镇的一个保；1952年并入第十一区的一个乡，1958年设长坑公社下的小西大队。1984年才称长坑乡小西村委会，此后的2020年，改隶长卿镇，名为小西村村民委员会。[1]

文化[edit]

2022年1月，小西村被认定为「安溪县2020-2021年度文明村镇」。[1]
