地名由来[edit]
这里原有三个自然村：刘坂、马厝和塘苏内。马厝旧称“美趣”，与塘苏内各取一字，组成了村名“美塘” [1]。早先马氏居住于马厝，后来黄氏迁入，马氏迁出，黄氏又把地名由方言谐音改作“美趣” [1]。
历史沿革[edit]
1978年，美塘独立为村，此前属祜水乡 [1][2]。明清与民国时期，此地归长泰里泰安乡管辖；新中国成立后归城厢公社，1984年改归参内乡 [1]。
荣誉[edit]
美塘村在淘宝村名单中三次上榜：2020年由阿里研究院公布，2021年列入南京大学空间规划研究中心与阿里研究院共同发布的名单，2022年10月再度入选「淘宝村」名单 [1][2]。
