镇中村位于参内镇北部，辖7个自然村；村名来自它在原镇抚乡辖区中部的位置 [1]。

历史沿革[edit]

1964年以前，这一带属镇抚乡，乡域分为三个村后，此地居于原乡辖区中部，遂称镇中 [1]。村名原作“镇抚内”。民国23年（1934年）推行保甲制时，这里曾设镇中保，隶属镇抚保 [2]。新中国成立后仍隶属镇抚乡，1961年由原大队分出，设立镇中大队 [2]。1984年政社分开，改称镇中村；2020年7月，村级组织改设为镇中村村民委员会 [2]。

名胜古迹[edit]

村内的赤石堂建于中华民国时期，属近现代重要史迹和代表性建筑，为县级文物保护单位 [1][3]，并列入安溪县县级（含）以上文物保护单位名录 [4]。
