湖岭村是西坪镇西北部的行政村，位于凤髻山与紫云山之间，距镇区约12千米。[1]

地名由来[edit]

村庄四面高山环绕，居处又在山坡之上，地形望去如一泓湖水，故名湖岭。[1]

地理与村落[edit]

村境东接后格村，县道穿村而过，可通芦田、龙涓等地。全村辖9个村民小组，分为半岭、门口垅、林口美、山坑、留垵五个自然村。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

旧时此地属积德乡崇信里，由湖坑、半岭等旧乡组成。1958年10月划为西坪人民公社湖岭大队；1984年，村级组织更为西坪乡的湖岭村民委员会；1992年8月改制后，改由西坪镇设湖岭村委会。[1]
