村地处南山尖山峰脚下，故称尧山。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

明清时期属积德乡崇信里。民国三十五年（1946年）归西洋乡管辖。1952年划归第七区，1958年改隶西坪人民公社；1961年分出，另立尧山大队，1984年起称西坪乡尧山村委会。[1]

荣誉[edit]

2020年2月，本村列入「福建省第三批省级传统村落」名单。[1]

2025年11月，本村被认定为「福建省第二批省级乡村振兴示范村」。[1]
