美庄村隶属虎邱镇，位于镇区西南约18.8公里，海拔约540米。它原本是罗岩村的一部分，1961年分出，单独设为行政村。[1][2][3]
村子处于安溪南部门户，南靠长泰县，西邻华安县，207省道穿村而过。博雅地名网与百度百科都称本村是名茶黄金桂的发源地。[1][2][3][4]
地名由来[edit]
村子地处丘陵，山青水秀，四季分明，因1961年设立，且寓意美丽的社会主义村庄，遂名美庄。[1][2]
历史沿革[edit]
这一带在明清时属积德乡新康里，民国时期归宝山乡罗岩保。自1952年起属第八区，1958年列入西坪公社的罗岩大队，当时本村仍是其中的一部分。[2]
1961年，村子从罗岩大队中分出独立；1965年随虎邱公社离开西坪；1984年改设村委会，名为虎邱镇美庄村委会。村委会驻内村，下辖7个自然村。[1][2][3]
经济[edit]
博雅地名网与百度百科都称，黄金桂这一茶类的源头在本村。罗岩村一节也说到同一茶的源头，两者对源头的认定不同，本条目未作取舍。[2][4]
荣誉[edit]
近年村里获得的荣誉有：2020年12月，被认定为「2020年泉州市中级版“绿盈乡村”」；2022年1月，被认定为「安溪县2020-2021年度文明村镇」。[2]
