地名由来[edit]
美林与望亭是村内两个自然村。美林一名与五音山森林的尾部有关，旧称尾林，后雅化为美林。村名合并两村名中各一字，即美亭。[1][2]
历史沿革[edit]
明清时期，村域属积德乡新康里；民国三十五年（1946年）划入新康乡金榜保。新中国成立后，先归第七区的金榜乡，1958年成为西坪公社金榜大队的一部分。[1][2]
1960年，金榜大队分出本地，设美亭大队。1965年，此地脱离西坪公社，并入虎邱公社。1984年，改称美亭村委会。[1][2]
人口与民族[edit]
村民主要为林姓与施姓。村委会设在望亭，下辖八个自然村，包括望亭、后林等。[1][2]
荣誉[edit]
近年村里获得的荣誉有：2022年1月，被认定为「安溪县2020-2021年度文明村镇」；2024年2月，被确定为「第二批福建省乡村振兴示范村镇」创建对象。[1]
