湖西村是福建省泉州市安溪县虎邱镇下辖的行政村，位于镇区西侧，名称取自其在湖坵的西部。[1][2]

地名由来[edit]

村名的来历是合并两个旧地名：山后与水办。山后一地先写作山厚，之后又作山候，清代才改写为山后。村址后面的山峰名为尖峰山。[2]

历史沿革[edit]

明清时期，村域属积德乡新康里。1946年，即民国三十五年，此地归新康乡的湖坵保管辖；1952年划入第二区的湖坵乡。1958年设西坪公社湖坵大队，1961年自该大队分出；1965年又随虎邱公社离开西坪，沿用湖西大队的名称。1984年改设湖西村委会。[2]

荣誉[edit]

近年村里获得的荣誉有：2021年12月，被确定为「福建省第二批高级版绿盈乡村（乡镇）」；2023年10月，入选「2023年福建省金牌旅游村」名单；2023年12月，被认定为「2023年度福建省“一村一品”专业村」（铁观音）；2025年3月，被认定为「福建省第一批省级乡村振兴示范村」；2025年11月，被认定为「福建省第二批省级乡村振兴示范村」。[2]
