桂瑶村是安溪县龙门镇下辖的行政村，在镇政府驻地南约7.1公里，位于东岭尖北坡的高山盆地上，海拔908米。宋元时期此地多窑，窑形如龟，旧称“龟窑”，今名“桂瑶”由此音转而来。村委会驻隘仔街，全村辖14个自然村，村民多为林、叶、许姓。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

1945年前设为桂瑶保，建国后划入官桥区，设桂瑶乡。1961年组成桂瑶人民公社；1965年改为龙门公社下的桂瑶大队；1984年改设村民委员会。[1]

窑址与古道[edit]

村中有多处宋元古窑址，产出青瓷，釉色有灰青、茶黄、豆绿与青白等。1985年，县政府把桂瑶窑列为首批重点文物。[4]

历史上，村地的东岭隘是古代通往厦门的要道，至今仍留有古窑址、古桥和一段古道。[2][4]

人物[edit]

林建猷官至福建水师提督，其父林志中为总兵。两人的墓葬与遗像在村中。[3]

荣誉[edit]

2021年2月，桂瑶村列入「福建省2018-2020年度省级文明村镇社区」名单。[1]
