三元村位于金谷镇，1983年由元口村拆村后定名，村名沿用新中国成立后的“三元”之名。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

追溯到明朝万历年间，这里已属安溪县兴二里的紫帽兜。1960年，村域归金谷公社元口大队。1983年元口拆村，此地改称金谷乡三元村；到1985年，三元村委会才设立。1991年，金谷乡转为镇，村委会改属金谷镇。[1]

地理环境[edit]

三元圩位于村中，地势平坦。在源口大桥未建之前，这里是一处主要集市，周围是茶叶的主产区，茶季时农户来此卖茶青和茶叶。[2]

荣誉[edit]

2022年1月，三元村被认定为「安溪县2020-2021年度文明村镇」。[1]
