美洋村位于金谷镇，村名原作“尾洋”，因方言中“尾”与“美”同音而改称美洋。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
1993年金谷乡改为金谷镇，村名仍为美洋村，村委会照设。1984年，村子归金谷乡，称美洋村。再往前，1964年改隶金谷公社，为美洋大队；1958年至1961年间属蓬莱公社、名东溪大队，之后改称东溪公社。1956年为金溪乡的东二高级社，1949年归蓬莱区东溪乡。明清和民国时期属崇善里17都的尾洋保，村子约在南宋时已形成。[1][2]
文化[edit]
东溪街又名晒谷坪，位于美洋村，旧时是德化、大田、永春一带杉木和林产品流入安溪的集散地之一。[3]
人物[edit]
罗豪才是全国政协副主席，他的祖籍在美洋，本人生于新加坡，上世纪五十年代回到国内读书。[3]
