金东村位于金谷镇镇区的东南部，村名由地处镇区东南得来。该村原与金谷村、金山村同属一村，20世纪60年代才析出单独建村。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

村域在宋代属修仁乡崇善里，明清时期仍归崇善里，民国34年（1945年）10月划入溪东乡。中华人民共和国成立后，村子辗转于清溪、第三、蓬莱几个区之间，1958年归蓬莱公社。1965年4月金谷公社设立，村子称金东大队；1984年4月改称金东村，建乡；1991年11月建镇，村委会改属金谷镇。[1]

荣誉[edit]

2022年1月，金东村被认定为「安溪县2020-2021年度文明村镇」。[1]
