仙苑村位于城厢镇西北，靠近蓝溪与晋江西溪的交汇处，地势平坦，古时是水运的枢纽。[2]

历史沿革[edit]

据博雅地名网，南宋朱熹曾到此游历，为“清溪八景”中的薛坂晓霞题诗，又在薛坂溪边手书“仙苑”二字，把薛坂比作仙人的苑圃。石碑后因洪水冲入溪中而失传，地名沿用至今。[1]

明清时期属光德里；民国时期归城苑镇的仙苑保。1952年划入第二区，设仙苑乡。1958年入城关公社，并设一个大队；1965年改隶城厢公社，自原大队析出，单设仙苑大队；1984年改为城厢乡仙苑村委会。[1][3]

名胜古迹[edit]

城厢仙苑古渡口列入县级文物保护单位名录，类别为古遗址。据博雅地名网，安溪古渡口分布在湖头、蓬莱与城厢三处，城厢一处在仙苑街旁。[4][1]

经济[edit]

2020年、2021年和2022年，仙苑村三次入选淘宝村名单。[1]
