上营村在城厢镇境内。民国时期此地分为上地与车岩两个村落，同属一保；1960年两村合并为上岩。因他处已有同名村，遂改谐音为上营，取上地之“上”与车岩之“营”合成。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

清朝时隶属泉州府安溪县光德里，民国时属安溪县一保。中华人民共和国成立后先后隶属城厢境内的乡建制，1958年属城关公社的一个大队；1965年划属城厢公社，同时自原大队拆出，单设上营大队。1984年设城厢乡上营村委会。[1][2]

2023年2月，上营村入选「福建省第三批高级版绿盈乡村」名单。[1]
