茶都社区位于城厢镇中心区。社区的名字来自原先的茶叶批发市场，那里曾有“中国茶都”之称，各地茶商在此云集交易。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

2000年1月12日开工，此前的1999年10月1日已举行奠基，同年11月投入使用。政府建这一市场，是要给茶农提供交易平台，改变过去销路窄、茶农肩挑手提上门推销的做法。[1][2]

社区的管理机构先是2001年2月组建的茶都管委会，两年后的2003年4月改设居民委员会；2004年，中国茶都党委会也在此成立。[1][3]

文化[edit]

2022年1月，社区被认定为「安溪县2020-2021年度文明村镇」。[1]
