宗城社区位于湖头镇中心区。得名于此地旧时的一座土楼，那是理学家李光坡的旧居，楼名为“宗城”。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

宋、元、明、清时期此地属感化里忠义保，民国改设四区忠义乡。1953年，四区设立湖头镇；1958年并入湖头公社，编为排工大队，1963年改编为综合大队，其后再改为湖头镇综合大队。2005年设宗城社区，并成立居委会。[1]

名胜古迹[edit]

宗城土楼位于社区内河滨西路一带，为县级文物保护单位。[1]
