地名与沿革[edit]

村名的来历是周围林木茂盛，由多个旧地名合并构成。[2]

明清时期属兴一里。民国时期为新林保；1952年设新林乡，归第三区管辖。1965年撤销小公社后，原大队单独成村；1984年改名新林村。[3]
