辋川村是辋川镇的中心村，镇政府所在地即在村内，辋川街一带原为古街所在。[1]村子北面有莲花山、狮子山、烟楼山环抱，南面临海，村域面积约1.2平方千米。[1]

明代为抵御倭患建城后，此地商旅聚集，因城形如网而称网城，后谐音写作辋城，1980年改称辋川。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

明清两代，辋川村所在地归三十四都西溪铺管辖；民国时划入辋川乡的辋城保。新中国成立后，村地先隶辋川一区，再随区划变动转入十一区、十四区，1956年并入驿坂区时设立了辋川镇。1958年划归超先公社，称辋城大队；1961年成为辋川公社中西街大队。1980年村子改设为辋川乡的辋川村，1989年乡制改镇后至今沿用。[1]

地理环境[edit]

村域北倚三山，南临大海，村貌山海相映。村内有一条长约一千米的古街，旧有店铺五百余间，村民中以商业和手工业为生者居多。[1]

人口民族[edit]

村民以颍川陈氏为主，潘、任、林、李、王、黄等姓杂居其间。[1]

文化[edit]

村内东尾头的泗洲公宫中有明代泗洲佛石雕像，标美顶的六角井凿于明代。[1]

福建省于2019年6月把辋川村列入「第六批福建省历史文化名镇名村」。2021年2月，村庄入选「福建省2018—2020年度省级文明村镇社区」名单。2024年2月，村庄被确定为「第二批福建省乡村振兴示范村镇」创建对象。2025年3月，村庄被命名为「第七届全国文明村镇」；同年11月，被认定为「福建省第二批省级乡村振兴示范村」。[1]

名胜古迹[edit]

辋川桥建于明成化二十一年（1485年），横跨菱溪与林辋溪的交汇处，石构梁桥，全长约121米，7墩8孔，为县级文物保护单位。[3][4]

桥西街头的辋川妈祖庙坐东朝西，两进，庙内保存明代的石浮雕与木刻，山门两侧立有明代石碑四方。[3][5]

在辋川城古街的中段，后方是下四家陈氏祖厝建筑群，清道光五年（1825年）建成。主体为祖厝与书馆，前方排着14间店铺。[3]

潘氏家庙在桂林中街，清康熙年间建，道光年间迁至现址，1941年重修，1989年又由旅台乡亲捐资修缮。[1][3]

辋川城隍庙旧址位于标美顶，始建于明嘉靖四十三年（1564年），历代都是辋城防匪抗倭的指挥点，庙后留有长约25米的城基。[3]
