大吴村位于惠安县东北部，距东桥镇政府约3公里，行政区域面积约4.5平方千米。村民多姓吴，村中东桥吴氏开闽始祖祠旧址为县级文物保护单位。[1][2][3]

地名由来[edit]

村名与吴氏的开基始祖有关。吴仁禄于唐开成三年（838年）中进士，官至国子博士，后迁户部大司徒；唐末他从河南光州固始迁入闽地，居于晋江县十六里白马庙之东，即今大吴村所在。村名取“祥光大发”之意。[2]

历史沿革[edit]

清代此地属三十二都吉庄铺。民国时属东岭乡下辖的大吴保，1949年后先后归三区、东岭区的大吴乡。1958年属飞跃公社大吴生产大队，1985年以后改为东岭乡的大吴村委会。1996年，东岭镇分出东桥乡，大吴村随之划入。[1][2]

名胜古迹[edit]

东桥吴氏开闽始祖祠旧址始建于唐天佑年间（905年至907年），1942年以后又经两次重修，最近一次在2004年。建筑依中轴线排列，自北而南为照墙、石埕与祖祠，东侧设戏台和六角形凉亭「思园亭」。[3]

村内另有吴庭民居，为清末经商的吴庭所建，两进五开间，硬山式屋顶，带燕尾脊。福泉宫始建于宋，两进五开间，主祀观音。[4]
