南湖村是东桥镇下辖的行政村，位于惠安县东部沿海地区，离镇政府约1公里。村名的来历是：古时此地有一大湖，后来村民在湖的南岸定居，遂得此名。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

清末此地属泉州府惠安县东门外三十二都结庄铺。中华人民共和国成立后归惠安县东岭三区，1957年自珩山乡分出，并入飞跃公社梅庄乡东桥管区的东星大队。1960年冬另设南湖大队，隶属东岭公社。1976年改称东岭镇南湖村公所，1984年10月改设南湖村民委员会。1996年，村自东岭镇分出，成为东桥镇南湖村委会。[1][2]
