荷山村在东岭镇东部，解放前一带属龙湖乡。村名有两种来历：村中有几个村都姓刘，合称「五刘」，村旁又有一座形似荷叶的小山丘，故名荷山[1]。

历史沿革[edit]

荷山在民国时期属东岭乡，明清时属三十一都黄坑铺。1949年冬之后归东岭区。1958年起隶属飞跃公社与东岭公社，并设立荷山大队；20世纪80年代中期改设荷山村委会，1989年乡改镇后归镇属[1][2]。

名胜古迹[edit]

荷山刘玉水故居位于东房自然村，建于1923年、1955年和1989年，屋主刘玉水（1893—1972）为东房人[1]。荷山中学的大会堂与西楼都是20世纪50年代的建筑，同被列为近现代史迹[1]。

文化[edit]

村内有荷山中学、荷山小学和荷山幼儿园[2]。
