湖埭头村在东岭镇中部，村内以辛、吴二姓为主[2]。村名来历：古时此地是海湖冲积地，后辛氏村民迁来，选海湖前端的高处居住，并围垦海湖作埭，故称湖埭头[1][2]。

历史沿革[edit]

据村情介绍，辛氏约在1404年由泉州罗山镇迁入，吴氏约在1022年由安溪迁入[2]。1985年从原有建制中析出，设立湖埭头村委会，归东岭乡管辖[1]。

名胜古迹[edit]

惠安暴动筹备会旧址—胡文炳故居在湖埭头自然村，始建于1916年，建筑坐东朝西，为砖石木结构的一进三开间。1930年7月，福建省委书记罗明到泉州各地巡视，曾在此召开惠安暴动筹备工作的汇报会议[3][4]。胡文炳（1900—1962）为本村人，1930年参加红军，惠安暴动时任湖埭头村苏维埃政府主席，这处旧址被县文化和旅游部门列入新发现未定级不可移动文物名单[3][4]。

文化[edit]

湖埭头村于2024年1月获评「2023年福建省卫生村」。福建省农业农村厅于2022年10月确认湖埭头村为「第二批福建省乡村治理示范村镇」[1]。
