历史沿革[edit]
原先此地是一处大溪港。后有陈姓村民迁来，将溪滨围垦为埭田，并在田旁建居定居，村名由此而来[1][2]。
此地先是属惠安县二十七都场下铺，民国时并入崇武区，建国初归第四区新田乡所辖。1958年政社合一，划入飞跃公社；1961年，它成为崇武公社田墘大队。1974年1月，崇武公社拆出十六个大队另设山霞大队，田墘随之归山霞公社；1984年10月，改组为田墘村民委员会[1][2]。
