历史沿革[edit]
民国时期，山柄与场下两处合为一保，取「山下」之名；因「下」与「霞」读音相近，遂改称「山霞保」，村名由此而来[2][3]。宋代本地属崇武乡，元代属行满乡守节里，清代分属青山铺、凤洋铺与场下铺[3]。
中华人民共和国成立初期，村子归第四区的山霞乡管辖；此后经涂寨区、飞跃公社等体制变动，1961年以山霞大队的名称存在。1974年，山霞人民公社在本村设社址；1984年10月，本村所在的山霞乡人民政府成立；1991年，乡制改为镇制[3][4]。
经济[edit]
村内的龙港工业基地入驻了多家企业，石雕与建筑业是村中的支柱产业[1][2]。
文化[edit]
近年来，山霞村获得的荣誉有：2023年1月，司法部、民政部命名为「第九批全国民主法治示范村（社区）」；2024年2月，列为「第二批福建省乡村振兴示范村镇」创建对象；2025年11月，被认定为「福建省第二批省级乡村振兴示范村」[2]。
