地名与沿革[edit]
一说是明代胡姓村民从仙游美林迁来定居，仍用祖籍的地名，后来谐音写成美仁。另一说是村子位于低丘坑的尾端，原名尾垄，后谐音为马垅，村中文人又把它雅化为美仁。[1]
明清时期此地归十七都黄田铺所辖，民国时属民安乡恒德保。1949年冬以后，先后隶属一区、七区、九区和黄塘区的恒德乡。[1]
1958年，这里划入东红公社的后垵大队，1961年从黄塘公社中分出，另设美仁大队。1985年改为黄塘乡的美仁村委会。1999年，村子从黄塘镇分出，并入新设的紫山镇。[1]
概况[edit]
村内有中学、小学和幼儿园，并有中小型企业和家庭作坊。村子的林地占比较大，山林以低山丘陵为主。[1][2]
荣誉[edit]
2020年12月，美仁村被认定为「2020年泉州市中级版“绿盈乡村”」。[1]
