光山村位于惠安县紫山镇中部，距县城约9公里。村名一说来自旧时村民上山砍柴，过度砍伐使山地变得光秃。[1]

地名与沿革[edit]

村名的一种说法是：村中地瘠人贫，村民靠上山砍柴换取盐米度日，砍伐过度，山地便成了光山。[1]

明清时期此地属十七都黄田铺，民国时属民安乡紫山保。1949年冬以后，先后隶属一区、七区和九区的紫山乡，1956年并入黄塘区蓝田乡。[1]

1958年，村子划入东红公社，编为山仔边大队；大队随后于1961年改名红星大队，隶属黄塘公社。到1981年，村中另立光山大队。1985年，黄塘乡为其设立光山村委会。1999年8月，村子从黄塘镇分出，随紫山镇的设立而归紫山镇。[1]

村民以农业和外出务工为主要收入来源，村集体收入较少。[1]
