地名与沿革[edit]
古时山头长满紫竹，村子因此得名。村子另有一个俗称，叫「山仔村」。[1][2]
元代这里归惠安县黄田铺的紫山乡所辖。新中国成立后的头几年，村子隶属惠安县第七区，后又改属第九区。1958年并入东红公社，之后由黄塘乡管理，编为红星大队。1980年，村子改设为紫山村委会。[2]
1999年，紫山村自黄塘镇分出，并入新成立的紫山镇。[2]
历史与人文[edit]
1940年代末，村子曾是闽西游击队的联络据点。[2]
村中留有祖厝、宫庙、典当巷和旧街仔等遗存。[2]
名胜古迹[edit]
村中有一块大石，称万年宝珠石，又名月石，高约25米。[2]
紫山宝珠石山遗址属紫山村所在的地域，年代为商周时期，属古遗址。[1]
紫山人子石山遗址在村中顶村自然村的北面，位于黄塘溪北段上游的盆地北部。遗址的山体约1.9万平方米，2005年的晋江流域考古调查在此采得一批陶片。[3]
