后垵村位于惠安县紫山镇的丘陵后部，四周与紫山镇的多个村庄相邻。村名原指山形似马鞍，后字形改用「垵」。[1]
地名与沿革[edit]
村子所在的山形如马鞍，村名由此而来。因当地居民以土地为生，字形上把「鞍」的革旁换成了土旁，写成「垵」。[1]
元代此地隶属惠安县黄田铺，明代则属黄田铺下的光德里十八都。1941年这里是黄塘乡的后垵保，1949年又归社厝第九区和恒德乡管辖。[1]
1958年，这里成为东红人民公社的一个大队，并包含美仁一带；美仁在1962年另立大队。1999年，村子从黄塘镇转入紫山镇。[1]
荣誉[edit]
2021年12月，后垵村入选泉州市「2019至2021年度市级一村一品专业村（乡镇）」，主导产业为火龙果。[1]
2024年3月，后垵村获评「惠安县2023年度平安村（社区）」。[1]
