油园村位于惠安县西北部，在紫山镇镇区范围之内，东邻美仁村，西面有紫山溪流过。村名来自旧时此地种植花生、加工花生油的习俗。[1][2]

地名与沿革[edit]

这里原是花生的种植地，先人利用当地出产加工花生油，村因此而得名。[1]

1960年1月，原来的7个自然村组成一个大队，定名油园大队。[1]

1983年改革开放时，大队改称油园村民委员会。1999年，油园村从黄塘镇划入新设立的紫山镇。[1][2]
