苏塘村位于黄塘镇境内，下辖3个自然村。村名来自早年村中的一口大池塘和池畔聚居的苏姓人家。[1][2][3]

地名由来[edit]

早年村中有一口大池塘，池畔多住苏姓人家，后苏姓陆续外迁，村名仍称苏塘。[2]

历史沿革[edit]

明代，郑姓村民由东园凤山乡迁来定居。1958年前，村地先后属惠安县黄塘乡与九区下殿乡。1958年9月划入东方红公社霞殿生产大队；1984年10月改称黄塘镇苏塘村民委员会。[2]

经济[edit]

村中以手工米粉加工为特色产业，制作技艺相传自清代嘉庆年间，并形成规模化生产基地。据百度百科所载，2014年登记户籍人口328户、1515人。[1]
