埔兜村位于黄塘镇西南部，村内有狮峰寺。两家资料对其所辖自然村数目记载不同：博雅地名网作5个，百度百科作3个。[1][2]

地名由来[edit]

一说，姜氏先祖在此开基，以打铁为业，村名由此而来。[2]

另一说，明末清初有叔侄二人打铁后南下定居，以「埔」「刀」二字为名，称埔刀村，后演变为埔兜。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

清代以前，村地属惠安县十八都谷口埔。民国时属狮峰乡狮峰保，归洛阳区公所管辖。新中国成立后沿用狮峰乡之名，设霞西乡，并建立埔兜高级社。1958年设埔兜大队；1984年10月起称埔兜村民委员会。[2]

经济[edit]

村中的打铁技艺据百度百科所载已传承400余年，村因此又称「打铁村」。[1]
