清美村在涂岭镇辖区北部，地处泉港北大门，东邻下炉村，南临汶阳村，北接白潼村。[1][2]

据泉港区政府网2021年所载，村域面积1.3平方千米，下辖清美、前涂、尾厝3个自然村，分为10个村民小组，现有人口1956人。[2]

地名由来[edit]

村地古时临海，为码头，建有仓库。元代，黄氏先祖自惠安迁来，选址于仓库尾端，建成后称「中厝」的祖居，村名由此而来。[3]

历史沿革[edit]

明清隶属十一都樟市铺，民国归涂岭乡清美保。1949至1951年间属七、八区的涂岭乡；1952年起由十区管辖，以清美乡为建制；1956年转属驿坂区涂岭乡。[4]

1958年后归超先与涂岭两公社，设清美大队。1983年曾经拆分，1985年改称涂岭乡清美村委会。[4]

地理与经济[edit]

村地处泉港北大门，福厦324线公路与福泉高速公路横贯村域，交通便利。[2][1]

村内耕地250亩，山地约2500亩，村民以耕作和外出务工经商为主，山地多种植龙眼、荔枝、枇杷等果树。[2][5]
