村子依山临水：南有坝头溪支流古县溪，北有坝头溪，古县一段长2.3公里。[2]

历史沿革[edit]

这里原为街山保，民国时期设立。新中国成立后此地为街山乡，1954年更名古县乡并设古县大队；2004年改为前黄镇古县村委会。[1]

人口与土地[edit]

耕地2340亩，山地3000亩；2008年底的户数为1127，人口为4547人。这些数字连同现在的龙田村一并计入。[2]

名胜古迹[edit]

虎岩寺、玉山庙、院内三宝寺、石冠洞都在本村；商周时期的蚁山遗址亦在本村境内。[2][3]
