前黄村位于前黄镇镇区中心一带，村内分为前黄、西园、涂楼三个自然村。[1][2] 村民生计已由过去以农业耕作为主，转为以外出打工和商贸服务为主。[2]

地名由来[edit]

开基祖黄理从莆田黄巷迁居此地，为使子孙不忘祖居，遂取村名前黄。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

民国时期此地先后隶属坝头区与第三区，1941年设前黄保，1947年属锦凤乡公所。[1] 1958年归山腰人民公社的前黄管理区，成为前黄大队；1984年改属山腰乡，设前黄村委会。[1]

1999年8月前黄镇设立后，前黄村委会改由前黄镇管辖。[1][3]

荣誉[edit]

2022年10月，前黄村入选「第六批中国传统村落」；2021年9月，前黄村被认定为「第二批全国乡村治理示范村」。[1]

名胜古迹[edit]

黄素石楼俗称“土楼”，位于本村西南，建于清代，是福建省文物保护单位。[4][5]

村内还有南宋时期的黄理墓，位于显佛山南麓，为市级文物保护单位；前黄合隆商行旧址也在本村。[4]
