东山村位于后龙镇东北部，北侧与福炼一体化新厂区相接，南面紧临福炼生活区的商住片区。[1]

地名由来[edit]

此地古称陈山，先由陈姓人家居住，后刘姓迁入并繁衍较快，刘姓族人遂提议去掉「陈」字的左耳旁，改称东山。[3]

沿革[edit]

民国时期属惠安县十九都，之后为九都梅峰铺，保甲制下为一保。新中国成立后，此地先属北海区的岩山乡，直到1956年。次年起划归后龙公社，当时是某大队下的第四片区。1984年从大队中分出，以「东山」为名设立行政村。[2]

全村由东山、新厝、白石安与蔡岭四处自然村合成。二战时期，村民刘马锡等人以本村为地下工作据点。2007年7月，泉港区人民政府给东山村颁发了革命老区基点村的牌匾。[2]

搬迁[edit]

2009年，因福炼一体化安全隔离带工程，东山、新厝两个自然村整体拆迁，居民多安置于栖霞、柳山小区，但不少人仍在蔡岭、白石安建房居住，户口未迁出。[2]
