涂坑村位于后龙镇中部，村名另写作「土坑」。村内留存刘氏古民居群，2014年列入第六批中国历史文化名村，现为国家级历史文化名村，同时是中国传统村落。[1][6]

地名由来[edit]

村名有「涂山」与「土坑」两种叫法。据传刘氏先祖开拓此地时，见群山环抱，于是在周围五华里之内展拓出十八个刘氏村庄，统称涂山。「土坑」之名则来自环山中央盆地上的一座土山坡，坡下为村民聚居处，村庄依山傍坑而建。[1]

沿革[edit]

据博雅地名网，明永乐二年（1404年）刘氏始祖刘宗孔由莆田迁居此地。[2]明清时属九都梅峰铺。民国年间归梅来乡管辖，涂山在当时是其中的一个保。新中国成立后并入涂山乡，人民公社时期称涂山大队。1985年该大队分拆为四个行政区，涂坑即以一个村庄单独设村。[3]

明末清初，刘端弘与刘端瑜被列为土坑开族的第十二世，两人在涂山兴建宅院，并分别建南、北两座文武馆，即选青斋与凌云斋。清代进士刘开泰官至江西南赣总兵，咸丰五年南赣城失陷时，他与叔侄及百余名族人同时殉难，咸丰帝谥赐其家「两世三忠」。[2]

古建筑与文化遗存[edit]

村内的刘氏古民居群，据博雅地名网（未注年份）所记，现存较完好的古大厝15座，多为砖石木结构的庭院式建筑。[2]博雅地名网的景点页将土坑村古建筑群列在后龙镇土坑村，其主要建筑有百万大厝等。[4]

村南的白石宫始建于明万历年间，供奉妈祖。[2]

荣誉[edit]

2014年2月，涂坑村入选第六批中国历史文化名村；同年11月，列入第三批中国传统村落名录。[1][6]2021年11月，获福建省爱卫办命名为「2021年福建省卫生村」。[1]2023年11月，被认定为「第三批全国乡村治理示范村」。[1]2025年，村庄先后被确定为泉州市（5月）与福建省（11月）「一村一品」专业村，主导产业为休闲旅游。[1]
