历史沿革[edit]
村名取山腰古称「锦绣」中的「锦」字，与地处大埭、地势平坦的「川」字相合。[2]
村落于民国三十六年（1947年）2月设立，称锦凤乡；1955年5月，归属山腰区的山川乡。1958年10月组建山腰公社，本村遂成锦川大队。1984年10月1日，此地改为山腰镇锦川村委会，后又称山腰街道锦川村委会。[2]
「宽裕型文明村」的称号于2004年2月由泉州市委、市政府授予本村；2007年10月，泉港区委、区政府又授予「村务公开民主管理示范村」。[2]
文化[edit]
山腰礼拜堂创办于光绪十八年（1892年）。[2]
