历史沿革[edit]
荷池原称何厝村，村中居民姓郑。祖先在明洪武初年自莆田迁入惠安，后辗转至何厝，至今已繁衍二十四世。[2]
民国末年，因地势与风水的缘故，何厝改名荷池，此名沿用至今。[2]
2003年6月，村委会被撤销，改设为社区居委会，此事已获上级政府批准。[2]
名胜古迹[edit]
社区内的郑氏宗祠始建于明天顺年间，为四进五开间的硬山式建筑，列为「泉港区革命文物保护单位」。土地革命战争、国共合作与解放战争期间，它两度成为惠安县委特支驻地。[2]
社区另有天妃宫，据称已有七百多年历史。[2]
