庄田村在河市镇东南，东与惠安县相接，西邻炉田村，南接溪头村，北连山边村，离泉州市区约25公里。[1]

村名取下庄、小田两个自然村名中各一字，合成庄田。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

清代归晋江县四十一都。民国末年并入大猷乡联山保，解放初称晋江县河市乡；人民公社化后，成为河市公社的庄田大队。[1]

1984年划归鲤城区河市乡，称庄田村；河市乡改镇后，村名改为河市镇庄田村。[1]
