下炉田村在河市镇区东南，距区政府约10公里，西与南安市四都镇交界，北接马甲镇。[1][2]

马甲镇也有一个炉田村，两村以所在方位区分：马甲的称顶炉田，此村称下炉田。[1][2]

村名的来历：明代嘉靖年间，马甲炉田的王姓族人迁居此地，仍以祖籍地名命名。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

清代的炉田村隶晋江县四十四都官羊育里。解放初属河市区，设炉田乡；合作化阶段一度称东方红高级社，人民公社时期为炉田大队，此后才定名炉田村，并设村委会。[1][2]

人口民族[edit]

村内现存清代古民居15座，其中有「三雕」装饰。[1]
