新建村在马甲镇驻地的西北侧，相距约4公里，西面与南安市洪梅镇一山相隔，北麓一带有打石岭。全村辖10个自然村，是镇内人口较多的行政村。[1][2]

“新建”一名，原是“黄井后新屋”一处角落的称呼；1958年分队时以“新建队”为名，后来简称“新建”。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

公社化的1958年，此地另立一个新建大队；到1984年，改组为马甲乡下的新建村委会。[1]

文化[edit]

「杜中士故宅」位于后申厝，建于清代，为市级文物保护单位。[1]

「宋馆」位于庵内自然村，建于清末，同为市级文物保护单位。[1]

荣誉[edit]

村落为革命老区，2005年建成宽裕小康村。[2]

2020年9月、2021年10月和2022年10月，村落先后列入淘宝村名单。[1]
